SAW 5 News

Lots of sites have posted their reviews of SAW 5 and although I refuse to read them before seeing the movie, it seems like most of them were disappointed. I will post my review as soon as I can find time to see it, I’ve got a pretty busy weekend so hopefully I’ll get to the theater soon. For now though, those of you that saw it, feel free to post your thoughts on the movie in the comments here. Try to keep them spoiler free if you can.

I live in Australia and down here SAW V came out on the 23rd of October, but i STILL haven’t been able to see it…but i gonna see it on HALLOWEEN with my friends and i’m SO EXICTED!! i’m only 13 but i absolutely LOVE SAW like, i love Jigsaw, and Billy and just like everything about it!! SAW is the best movie ever made…ever!! anyway only 6 more days to go… and i CAN’T WAIT!!!

Actually, given the negative press the film was bombarded with before I watched it, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the new Saw film. It’s no all-time classic, but it gets the job done and I enjoyed the backstory detailing how Hoffman has been involved since the events of the first two films. The big twist isn’t really a twist at all, but overall the film was an entertaining addition to the franchise, with the traps returning to the emphasis on moral testing and teamwork. Be aware..though Jigsaw is featured throughout, this time the film is Hoffman’s story, so he takes center stage. An improvement over IV. ***1/2 out of **** and screw the critics.

Well, saw 5 answers a lot of questions but poses a ton of new ones. This has been my favorite series in movies for a while now and let’s me get my ” days of our lives” (for men) fix, with the very intricate and tricky storyline. All but leading to think tank discussion sessions with a group of people equally as exited as I am to get lost in the world of saw and put all the pieces together and figure out this very puzzling and compelling story that’s going on. After walking out of the theater, I gotta say, I felt pretty satisfied knowing new information that ultimately seems to lead to saw 6. One neg I will say though, is that it does very well lead to a 6, which SUCKS, knowing I have to wait another year for more pieces of the puzzle. I’m addicted!!! I need!!! I need!!!!!
That’s ok though, I’m still happy wirh where the series is at and ultimately reccommend seeing this movie if you are as into this story as I am as it does fulfill. ( I found it helpful to watch all the saws in order over two days before seeing 5 in the theatre). Who knows, maybe next Halloween they’ll give us fans an extra treat by doing a saw 6 & 7 double feature!!!!!!! Ah, a man can dream can’t he?

  4. TGH Says:

wish they would wrap up the 6th with jigsaw back on the
bathroom floor in saw 1. all being a dream while he was laying
    on the floor

Imitation is the greatest form of flattery, thank god they did’nt have any kind of imitation of saw4 in saw5…these producers need to be the ones to finish 6 and 7. was a great movie, a little disappointed in the some of the traps. overall i think it was a great improvement over 4, especially the lighting. if pres. bush was as smart as jigsaw this country would have been a lot better off.

i watched this movie on the net instead of the theater, saved me some money. lol. all of the critics say this is a bad movie. i dont see how. it answered alot of question and gave me some new ones. i didnt see it ending like that though. are they gonna be looking for a dead man now?and what was in the box that jill got? plus i would like to know what happened to dr gordon. i hope these are answered in saw six.

  8. Chris Says:

The movie poses some serious questions for me………**spoiler alert***…if Hoffman was involved from the get go (thinking that the guy in the razor wire happened before the Dr Gordon scenerio, or did it?), then the first scene of Saw 5 actually happened before Saw 1, so where did Amanda jump on board? Saw 3 explained her helping Jigsaw in Dr Gordon’s bathroom setup, and the only time Hoffman and Jigsaw mentioned Amanda was in Saw 5, which was actually taking place during Saw 3 and 4 where Jigsaw gave Hoffman instructions for the multi room game seen in Saw 5…….wheeww…….so that makes Amanda and Hoffman both working with Jigsaw at the same time…..but did Amanda and Hoffman know of the other? Then we see that it was Hoffman who put the Amanda letter in the desk drawer, not Jigsaw…………BRILLIANT!!!!!! I think this whole movie series is just a chronological masterpiece, but appears to be a confusing tale of confusion then explanation. What if Saw 6 actually takes place before Saw??? mmmmmmmmmmmm I love these movies!

  9. kai Says:

in hoffman 6 i hope there’s plenty of hoffman

  10. kai Says:

    i cant get enough hoffman

  11. kai Says:

they should end the hoffman franchise with hoffman

  12. kai Says:

nah seriously though i love all the hoffman movies but it should end before it gets proper wanky, i know what was in the box that jill got a reindeer’s phallus wrapped in tinsel with a picture of chris tuckers badge in rush hour 1 blu tacked to it

  13. kai Says:

if dr.gordons game was after fatty in razor wire’s then john became known as jigsaw killer after only one kill not counting the pendulum dude hoffman offed cos amanda was before gordon but she got away obviously weird as fuck or what! and in amanda’s game what was the dude on the floor all about? he didnt ave much of a chance did he

  14. kai Says:

    WE’LL CLOSE IT SING!

  15. james rineer Says:

the movie and you all suck!!!

  16. james rineer Says:

Everyone tells of a time when all men were created equal. yo MEN are created equal it doesnt say anything bout women ahhahahahaha!i am not crazy either. it’s in black and white in the bible.

  17. Johnny A Says:

I just saw SAW V (5) this weekend and i thought it was pretty good…alot of people seemed upset and angry at how it turned out but i wasnt.I was excited to see it and i didnt see that ending…the commercial was so right…You really wont believe how it ends and dont listen to what critics say…Everybody has there own kind of movies they like…they just give the movies a low score probably because there not big fans of horror.scary movies you know..oh well..there loss…i just wish they didnt kill of Detective Matthews (Donnie Wahlberg) so soon..he was my favorite character in the series so far but the games must go on…i wanna know whats inside that box 2 lol

  18. Drew Says:

its prolly evidence on hoffman cus jigsaw said that he had evidence. i think so anyways

  19. Mike Says:

I think we’ll know more about the 8 people killed in the fire…there is a connection with those 8 to jigsaw…so, the contents of the box has something to do with that fire. The ending was clever and how Hoffman set up the final pieces to the story. I’m already looking forward to SAW 6. I can’t wait to meet Jigsaw and other cast members during SAWMANIA in a few weeks…I’m going to ask the SAW 6 Director about any hints.

    I just love this series.

  20. TJ Says:

Just got back from seeing SAW 5. I love the idea of the series and admit that the intricacies in the first 3 installments were what really had me hooked, but 4 confused me and 5 simply left me hanging high and dry. It so evident that the writers of 4 and 5 are different. Their intention is clear from 4 that they were just out to complicate the plot and create their own piece of ‘Saw’. I did like the gadgets and hostage scenes in 4 but I feel that 5 didn’t do the series justice. It was too mediocre. There were so many flaws in 5 that just irritated me.
Eg, the first scene (supposedly before all of the other deaths) is obviously injected after the fact and not thought of during the overall idea of saw, because it leaves holes in the theory of the jigsaw killer. It also isn’t very convincing because the jigsaw killer wasn;t really a prominent idea at the time the murder supposedly took place. Also, if Seth was one of the first then it should’ve been mentioned somewhere in the first 1 or 2 as a hint to further info, this really indicates different writers and different styles. The next thing that got me was when the cop revisists the old jigsaw scenes, logically they should not have still been there. If they were scenes of infamous ‘murder’ scenes the police would have destoryed them and not let remnants for people to revisit, like the barbed wire cage? Hello…serious hazard for sicko fans of Jigsaw and possible copycats. It’s just illogical that they were still there. In the scene where it flashes back to Jigsaw and Hoffman meeting a few things are poorly written. First, we know Jigsaw is an intelligent men…yes? However within the span of about 3 sentences he uses the word inferior twice, a man of his intelligence, and a character written by the original writers surely wouldn’t have done this. Irritated me a bit. Second when speaking about redemption, Jigsaw says that people who go through his games come out completely redeemed or whatever and Hoffman should try using his justice. The problem with this is that we only really see one person survive his games through the series and re-appear, and she went totally off the rails and had to be taken in by jigsaw cause his game obviously didnt work. I just think that this is another inconsistency created by the second group of writers which doesn’t much up with the original flair for writing that the first writers did.

There’s a few more things that irritated me, but i think you all probably get my point by now. Sorry if you don’t agree, but like i said before, I don’t think this installment did the series justice at all. I do give the writer’s props for coming up with something like this and having a go at finishing off the series, I could never write anything like this. But for me 5 just wasn’t as shocking and disturbing and had too much storyline and not enough gore. Number 4 was good with the gore and all the gadgets and gismo’s but it was way too confusing. Leading number 5 with too much explaining to do. Not for me.

That said, I love the series, i’m just a much bigger fan of the first 3. I just felt a bit disappointed and irritated by 5 and I think some other people will be too.

  21. TJ Says:

    kai wtf, are u like 12???? idiot….

  22. Mike Says:

I have been going to see the Saw movies ever since the first one came out in theaters and i love them all, they keep getting better and better! Im so excited to go and see Saw 6 when it comes out around Halloween. But as for Saw 5, I think it was the best one yet! I love that the whole movie was a huge set up!! and the blood in the movie is more realistic then Saw 4….I don’t know what the people thought was wrong with it!! I can’t wait to see if Jill Tuck or Danial is involved with Jigsaw.

  23. Dom Says:

jus bought the dvd yesturday and i have 2 say….that was tha bomb! this one and the 2nd one are my 2 favorites of the series..i was a little mad at the end tho becuz the cop actually died and hoffman is still alive i was thinking the series was going to come to a happy ending but looks like it leads on to number 6.. i think they should jus wrap the whole thng up in 6 cuz its 2 intense and risky to continue on =I…don want the series to be spoiled anytime soon…HE NEEDS TO DIE AT HIS OWN GAME!

  24. andy Says:

The only thing i can say is brilliant, the way we have to wait til the next movie to get the answers we need to furfill our thirst for this knowledge.

I love all the movies, but there are still some un-answered questions, I think Amanda is connected with Jill tucks clinic, thats where, the then John must have met her, as she had a drug related past.

If you listen to jigsaws wil video, he mentions to Jill that these ITEMS, are important. So we have more than one piece to workout.

The connection between the 5 victims in saw 5, mention a building, so is this connected with Johns, or Jills clinic?

I also think theres another unknown accomplice in this game, im sure Jill and Hoofman are connected somehow.

And whats in Amanda’s envelope, that hoofman placed in the drawer, she seemed pretty pissed off about it, im wondering if Amanda is in fact John or Hoofmans daughter.

  25. andy Says:

just to add, i like the timeline feature of this site, it certainly puts the actions in sequence.

  26. Drew Says:

    dr gordon will be back

  27. D.S. Says:

Honestly, I think Dr.Gordon is dead. I think he died of blood loss. That said, I’m really curious to see where they take Hoffman’s storyline in the sixth film. I’m also yearning to find out how the false evidence suggesting that Strahm may be the apprentice will shake things up in the “Saw” universe. Personally, I don’t think Erikson is going to buy it and that he’ll be suspicious of Hoffman, setting another storyline in motion.

  28. Anees Says:

I am sure that Dr. Gordon is alive and he is a part of this game too. He will be back. Me and my wife are pretty sure that he is also behid a big game.

  29. Jason Says:

The only thing I would like to add is my theory on Strahm. I think Hoffman is trying to set it up that they nevery find any evidence of Strahms body, so the police force will be on this big manhunt to take the pressure off of Hoffman. Also, I am thinking that once jigsaw realized that Hoffman was going to be a good candidate to take over his reigns, he introduced him to Jill and somehow they hooked up. Im still a little confused about Dr. Gordon. Part off me has been telling other SAW fans that he has to still be alive and then I always get the response that there is no way he is alive and part of me thinks I guess he can’t be alive. I still have a wierd suspicion that he is apart of this somehow.
